Hatha Yoga is a synthesis of asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation to enhance one's flexibility and to relieve stress. A traditional system passed down from centuries in India, hatha yoga can translate off the mat to instill balance, confidence, and positive thinking in daily life.
Yin Yoga is a more passive form of yoga in which postures are held for 3-5 minutes to encourage joint mobility and health. By relaxing the muscles, deep energetic work can be developed in the fascia (connective tissue) of the body.
Vinyasa Yoga is a more challenging sequencing of yoga asanas, in which emphasis is placed on creating a flow of movement and breath. This style of yoga is more fast-paced, and more likely to increase heart rate and make one sweat. Emphasis is on alignment and developing core strength.
